MVP Neutron Terra

MVP Neutron Terra

The Terra by MVP is the second disc in the James Conrad signature line. Created for James based on his needs on the Pro Tour, the Terra is a fairway driver you can rely on in any wind and as a general workhorse driver for players with bigger arms. Sitting neatly between the Volt and the Motion. The Terra is straight flying with a hefty amount of fade at the end that will still give decent distance before it dumps.

The Terra is a disc that took my bag by storm... and by that I mean that I am right now bagging three of them and am always considering bagging another one.

For me and my forehand (which is all I throw) it is the definition of reliability, I know what it will do and in which way will do it. For me it will fly straight for a good bit of its flight before fading slowly to the right, without dumping out of the sky as many other overstable fairways like the Fireball will do. Instead it has that "forward penetrating" fade that many people love for a good reason.

This disc gives me good (not great) reliable distance with a flight path that is easy to predict... and that is why it is such a staple in my bag. When I have an off day with my distance drivers I can trust the Terra to get me in positions, where I have easy approaches for par. If I play a hole I have never played before I can just search for that Terra-Line and it will get me down the fairway with ease. When I had an off drive and got a 60m apporach with enough space to the left, I know that this thing will get me close to the basket EVERY TIME. It caps out about 20 m shorter than my further flying discs, but that for me is more of a feature than a flaw since it is easier to rely on that way. Not having to worry that I may get a bad lie or even go to deep if I go 10m to far is a huge plus and gives that important confidence on the course.

Sooooo IF you are looking for a reliable overstable fairway, that is reliable in the wind and is good for placement shots without dumping like many others in this category do, the Terra is definitely a good option.

About the plastics

I have two Neutrons and one Electron in my bag right now, with another Electron waiting in case I would want to add it.

My more beaten Neutron is going straight a little bit longer than my newer Neutron, so I decide which one to use depending on how long it should go straight before it starts to fade.
The Electron is a different beast, after playing a one-disc round with it and putting around with it as well, it got some nice turn at the beginning of the flight and can even flip up when thrown with a slight hyzer. However at the end of the flight it still remembers that it is a Terra and gives some nice fade, giving a pretty unique S-shape.

The run I have is more overstable than my champion Firebird. The rim-flightplate is somewhat more rounded than my Firebird making it less comfortable for forehand throws. For backhand throws it feels like any other disc.
