Innova X-Caliber

Great disc for sidearm throwers and those with lots of power. Can handle headwinds and throws with off axis torque. Definitely not designed for beginning players. The XCaliber is extremely fast with glide and stability. The XCaliber achieves maximum distance when thrown low, flat, and hard. This is the one for confident bombs in windy conditions. The XCaliber has the stability to let the biggest arms throw with full power.

"The XCaliber is for those who have got to have the biggest and the baddest. Extremely fast with glide and stability. This is the one for confident bombs in windy conditions."

My Flight Ratings 12/5/0/3.5 Not Beginner Friendly

To me this disc is just a domier Destroyer which is not as comfortable in the hand. A bit more stable than a destroyer but tbh, could just be that mine was a bit domier.

If you got big hands and like overstable destroyers, this disc is for you.

My Flight Ratings 12/5/0/4 Terrible for Beginners

Glidier than a Tilt, and nearly as stupidly OS, but feels awkwardly domey in the hand.

I have two of these XCals - one stock and another Sexton Signature version - and they are both borderline ridiculous with the overstability. In profile, the dome is unabashedly pop topped, and is almost comically bubbled off the rim's "shoulders". Maybe that is why Sexton likes it for his headwind forehands, because there is a lot of space on the rim and under the flight path to give it a proper death grip on your power forehands. You will have to get used to the awkward domeyness in the hand though, especially if you are an aficionado of flat top forehand drivers. In action, I don't find it interferes with grip or release, likely because the flight plate feels gummy and soft and gives a great sense of control over disc angles. Oh, but the angles are also going to be pretty severe. I throw these forehand at about 45 degrees anhyzer for a high S-line that gets out to maybe 80m on full power. For comparison, my Felons will take a 15 degree angle to make the same flight on a mid-powered throw.
