Cloud Breaker

Since 2022 the Cloud Breaker is now it's own mold in the Creator Series line by Discmania. Previously the Cloud Breaker was a regular DD3 but now it is it's own thing. The Cloud Breaker have been slightly retooled from the regular DD3 after feedback from Professional Disc Golfer Eagle McMahon. Since 2024 The Cloud Breaker will only be available as a Gannon Burh special release.

very good distance driver for advanced and professional players. good amount of glide, perfect disc for maximum distance throws.

Nice plastic & stamp, a bit to overstable for beginners for distance throw, but good for flex shots also.

I would say it hooks way more at the end than fx a destroyer. But amazing for wind, amazing driver if you also put it on anhyzer, because it will fight out of it. So if you are a discmania fan and need that bomber disc, this is a must have. If you are new, probably get a DD first.

The Special Blend S-line Cloudbreaker is the first Cloudbreaker created with Discmania's own mold, in their own facilities.

There seems to be some amount of variation in this run of Cloudbreakers. I've seen people describe these as flippy, but the ones that I have are very overstable.

The shape is very flat, and the wing is higher than on any of my Destroyers. I have a couple of Special Blend S-line Cloudbreakers where the wing is not as high, but I haven't thrown them.

The ones that I have thrown act like more stable Star Destroyers. "Star Destroyer" is not the most exact term because there's large variation between Destroyers, but I would estimate that these Cloudbreakers fly more overstable than 80% of Star Destroyers that I've thrown.

The Special Blend S-line plastic is stiff and pretty hard, but manages to still be grippy. The older stiff Star plastic for example was much slicker than this.

This run of Cloudbreakers is not bad by any means, but the overstability surprised me. The plastic feels nice, although a bit stiff for my liking, and the flight is dependable without losing much distance.

These will do well for controlled distance shots, but for maximum distance I would rather pick up a Star Destroyer or a Horizon Cloudbreaker (Finnish Heritage stamp ones in my case), since they both flip a bit more than the Special Blend S-line Cloudbreaker.

The flight of the Horizon Cloudbreaker seems to be quite reliable and stable right out of the box. It doesn't have massive amounts of turn, but there's not too severe of a fade either.

For example a new Star Destroyer typically has decent amount of turn and an aggressive fade at the end. Cloudbreaker has less of both, making it fly very straight for a distance driver.

The lack of lateral movement makes it great for controlled distance shots (at ~130m range). It still has enough fade to end up reliably back left, and there's no risk of it flipping over when thrown hard.

The Horizon plastic is one of my favorites. It's a bit soft and very grippy. I like it better than the Special Blend S-line plastic or the stiffer Star plastics. The gummier variation of Star plastic is pretty much on par with the Horizon.

The Grand plastic from Latitude is perhaps a notch above any of those mentioned before, since it's slightly grippier and softer. My Grand Rive also flies very similarly to a Horizon Cloudbreaker.

The Horizon Cloudbreaker is an excellent, reliable distance driver for people throwing upwards of 120 meters.

Disclaimer: I have thrown two different Horizon Cloudbreakers (both Finnish Heritage stamped ones). There might be variation between different runs of discs and even variation between the same run.
